If you are like me, you like to workout at home just as much as you like to workout at a gym. So, why not improve your home gym this Christmas?! I love being able to do pretty much the same things at home that I could do at the gym! My home gym keeps expanding with items, which I am so excited about! I use my home gym to come up with ALL of my workouts!
Christmas Gifts for a Home Gym
- Yoga mat
- Bosu Ball
- Stability Ball
- Resistance bands
- Fit deck
- Weight set
- Kettle bells
- Foam roll
- Pull up bar
- Treadmill
Yoga mat
I started out with a thin yoga mat that I got from Target. It worked but I wanted something more comfortable. I found this Heathyoga on Amazon and it is AMAZING. It is 6mm thick which is great on hard floors and it is comfortable. This mat is grippy, which is perfect for me because my hands get slippery when working out. Yoga mats are great for yoga AND strength exercises that you do on the ground.
Bosu Ball
Ok, you know I love my Bosu Ball in my home gym. It is pink (which is my favorite). It is SO versatile. You can use it ball side down for push ups and core work. Or you can use it flat side down for squats, lunges, and other lower body work! It is a great tool to help with stability as well as strength!
Stability Ball
Another great piece of equipment for stability work is the stability ball. Not only can you use a stability for working out, but you can also use it to sit on while working to work on posture! This would be a great addition to ANY home gym!
Resistance bands
Yes, you know that I love resistance bands… They add resistance to so many wonderful exercises. They are so easy to travel with! I always have one in my gym bag. And I bring one with when traveling! I love any piece of equipment that you can travel with! There are bands made from latex and also cloth bands! These KCM Athletics bands are AMAZING! I have the 15in ones and they are perfect for all of my favorite lower body exercises. Resistance bands are a perfect edition to your home gym!
A fit deck is a fun way to spice up your workout. If you are bored with your workouts and you want to just get a full body workout and let it be a surprise, this is for you!
Weight Set
I think every home gym should have some weights. Dumbbells are great to have at home. They don’t take up a ton of space and they can enhance your strength workouts. I have 3 pairs of weights: 5lbs, 10lbs, and 20lbs. I use the 10 lbs the most but also like the 5lbs for my photos on my blog (they stand out better…) and the 20 lbs for lower body work!
Kettlebells
Kettle bells are great to change up your weights in your home gym. I own a 15lb kettle bell and 2 7.5lb kettle bells. I like to use them for different moves like kettle bell swings or renegade rows. Kettle bells are great because the weight is away from the handle so swinging them is fun.
Foam Roll
A foam roll is perfect for a home gym because it is great for cool down! Foam rolling is important to help relax your muscles before or after a workout. All you have to do is lay on top of the foam roll. Then you find the knot in the muscle and hold it for 30 seconds. So if you have soreness in your quad, you would be in a low plank but have the leg that’s sore on top of the foam roll. You would slowly roll it up and down until you find the knot. Then you hold it there for 30 seconds! It may start off kind of painful but in the end, you’ll feel great!
Pull Up Bar
So, this is on my wish list. I am not good at pull ups, so I want a pull up bar to help me. A pull up bar would hang from your door frame. So it wouldn’t take up much space at all in your home gym! If you are like me and need help with a pull up, a resistance band can help while you are getting stronger!
Treadmill
I am not a huge runner but there are a lot of exercises that you can do with the treadmill. You could do side steps with a resistance band or walking lunges. If you have the space for a treadmill, I would recommend it to add some cardio into your routine.
I definitely want KETTLE BELLS!! I will be giving birth around Christmas Day, and I cannot wait to get back into my weight routine again!!!!!
Kettle bells are so fun!
I definitely need a foam roll to relax my muscles. I get so tight after working out. I’ll check this one out!
Foam rolling is amazing!
Love all these ideas- great to keep all those New Years resolutions in check (;
Great ideas! Honestly can never have too many foam rollers
Thanks for the cool roundup. I definitely need to start putting together a gym at home!

Bosu balls are AMAZING! Definitely one of my favorite pieces of equipment! 😀
Such a great round up. So many of us have health goals for the new year. The yoga mat looks like a great find with the extra cushion!

You are so right!! ahah!
I’ve never heard of the Bosu Ball and I’m very intrigued. The stability ball that I bought a few years ago gets used as a weapon in my house so it’s put up most of the time. I’d love to try the Bosu Ball.
They are so great!
These are such great gift ideas for anyone who has a home gym! We have absolutely no space to store anything let alone have a section dedicated to fitness
I didn’t realize how expensive Bosu balls were, but it definitely makes a nice gift! Thanks for sharing your list – I have lots of active folks on my shopping list.
Yeah, they are definitely one of the pricier items on this list.

No problem! So happy to help!
The gym that I use to go everyday was closed for renovation for a month. I m using Kettlebell to workout at home. I am thinking of getting the stability ball to work on my posture and flexibility.
