What I am Thankful For

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what you are most thankful for. Being able to recognize what we are grateful for is a beautiful thing. I know sometimes it is hard for me, personally, to be grateful about certain things in my life. Mental illness has a wonderful (sarcasm) way of changing how life is perceived! But taking the time to think about what I am thankful for and write it out has been so nice.
My family
Jacob is the best thing to ever happen to me, 7.5 years ago. I was going through a rough time and he came into my life right at the perfect time. He helped me mend my relationship with my mother. And he showed me that family is an important part of life!
My kids are amazing. They have the best little personalities which are really starting the show. Marley takes some pretty great pictures of me for Instagram! Jackson likes to be around me ALL THE TIME, which is nice since I have baby fever so badly right now. (haha)
My extended family has been so supportive of us and are so great with the kids. Not only will they babysit when we need them, but they will clean the house (thanks MOM!!) and play with the kids. The kids love to be around all of them! Besides Jacob, my sister was the person who encouraged me to get my certification. She has always been into fitness being a runner and I never was. But once I started my fitness journey, she has been a great person for me to talk to and get advice from, and my favorite person to send gains pictures to! (Sorry, Amber!!)
This year, family is definitely one of the things I am most thankful for. I don’t know where I would be without any of them!
My Motivation to Stay Fit and Healthy
When people ask me, “What is your favorite thing about yourself?” I always say my motivation to stay fit and healthy. Ever since May of 2016, I have been motivated to become and stay fit and healthy. After having Jackson I wanted to lose 30 lbs and look better! I work out, I eat right (ok, I eat good about 80% of the time) and I stay motivated. But how do I stay motivated?
That is a great question! Well, I really enjoy working out. It is definitely therapeutic to me. There aren’t too many times where I do not want to workout. I think since I make it a priority in my life, I am able to keep up with it.
Jacob said something to me the other night that makes me so grateful. He said he is so proud of me in what I am doing. He knows it is hard to get motivated and stay motivated but I continue to work hard and keep hitting my goals.
My Blog and Followers
I started my blog in May of this year (Hooray). I had just become certified as a personal trainer through NASM. I always wanted to start a fitness blog but I wanted to become certified first. So the week after I passed my test, I worked on putting everything together. I had 3 blog posts ready to publish. I had my social media accounts ready to go (well all but twitter at the time…). I was ready to hit the ground running. It was such a great feeling!
The past 6 months have been wonderful. I have learned so much about blogging, social media, cameras, and myself! And the best part, this post is my 53rd post! WOO! 31 of them are fitness. 11 are food and 11 are lifestyle posts! I’ve had so much fun putting each and every one of these posts together. I love coming up with new workouts (as you probably can tell…). And I enjoy cooking up recipes that I find on Pinterest. But the best part of all of this is connecting with all of you. My followers have been great! So encouraging and patient! You have made these past 6 months so fun and I cannot wait for you to see what I have in store for the future!
I’m happy for you that your life is so full of what’s important: love, a family, a career and a hobby. It’s good to remember from time to time what are we grateful for and how our lives changed because of certain people in it.
Thanks for sharing this! You have a beautiful family. I’m definitely thankful for coffee, but need to get better at making fitness a priority. I just had a baby and it’s been difficult to get back into the gym routine. Congratulations on starting your blog!
Thank you so much! The hardest part for me was getting out of the house with the baby, so I started working out at home then joined the gym when my kids were a bit older. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to you! Thank you for your inspiring post!
Your family is absolutely beautiful! And I’m in love with your silver skirt!!!

Thank you!
This is such a lovely post. I think we should all stop and spend some time thinking about the things we are thankful for and remembering them.
Happy Thanksgiving. I’m glad you have so much to be thankful for. Enjoy the holiday season 🙂
You look so sweet as a family; so important to thank God for them. And as a blogger, you can always be grateful to your readers and followers who give you the psych to keep on! Blessed Thanksgiving!
This is such a heartwarming entry to actually just be grateful. Most of the time I get to be so clouded by worries and or problems that I forget to sit back, relax, and realize that there are so much to be grateful for.. for the food, the family, the breath in every second, the life I gotta live. Thank you for this!
Writing down what you are grateful for is such a good practice . I read a quote recently that I love, ” Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”
You are lucky to have support close by to help with the kids. It matters. We didn’t have that when we lived up north. I felt the difference and didn’t like it. 😉
Remembering what you are thankful for is always a great motivator in everyday life. I loved reading this post because it made me think of what I am thankful for and what I should be thankful.
You have a beautiful family and it’s wonderful that they were at the top of your list. I just found your blog but now that I have, you have a new follower.
Thank you so much!
That’s so cool that you have so many things there which you are thankful for. And so great you have made it through over 50 posts in your blogging journey. It’s always cool when you cross a milestone like that.
I am thankful for so many things it would be hard to make a list! my bf, my family, my blog and followers!
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for sharing your workouts to all your readers. I am sure many of your readers are motivated by your posts. Looking forward for more.
